Oregon Flute Circle, Eugene, Oregon. The first Native American Flute Circle in the United StatesOregon Flute Circle, Eugene, Oregon. The first Native American Flute Circle in the United States

HISTORY

Kokopelli on cliff wallOur Circle was created in the fall of 1993 by four strangers who became friends because of their mutual interest in learning to play the Native American flute.

Our members have traveled many pathways to the Circle, led by their desire to learn to play the flute, create their own songs, to share the flute with others, and to spread the joys of the Native American flute. Their playing levels range from beginner to advanced. All skill levels are welcome, from the person who doesn't play the flute yet, to the player with a collection of many flutes.

Our flute family gets together on a regular basis in the winter months at member's homes. In the warm weather months we have special outdoor gatherings such as evening campfires and weekend camp outs. Our focus is always sharing and learning more about flutes and flute music.

Kokopelli on cave wallWe find it relaxing and rewarding to step out of our daily routines and escape our stresses by going on journeys of the heart wherever the flute music takes us. The magic of the Native American flute has touched each of us and given us a wealth of experiences.

We want to share that pleasure with others. Spouses, friends and visitors are welcome to come to our gatherings just to listen. We are honored to introduce people to the captivating sounds of the flute and to support and promote those who are a part of the renaissance of the Native American flute.
